Training & Equipment

Falcon Truck School has a success rate that approaches 100% each month.

Falcon Truck School prides itself on the diverse education that our students receive. The majority of our students do not know what kind of truck, transmission or freight they will be working with when they graduate from our school. At Falcon Truck School you will drive many different makes of trucks, both cab-over-engine and conventional style trucks. These trucks contain some of the most common transmission types. Our students also get to take advantage of the multiple trailer types that Falcon Truck School has to offer. See below for a more detailed list of our trucks, trailers and transmissions.

All of this diversity adds up to one of the most complete truck driving educations available!

Tractors:

  • Peterbilt Cab-over-engine
  • Peterbilt Conventional
  • International Cab-over-engine

Transmissions:

  • 9-speed
  • 10-speed
  • 13-speed

Trailers:

  • 40 and 42 foot dry vans
  • Tank vehicle

Classroom Instruction

Falcon Truck School’s success is based on the fact that we limit our class size to allow for more personalized attention. Our classroom instruction will teach you the basics of truck driving as well as the most current laws and regulations that truck drivers must abide by. Our class in air brakes is one of the most in-depth and informative classes offered anywhere, featuring the only fully operational air brakes demonstration machine.

We also have many other helpful teaching aids which are incorporated into our classroom instruction. Falcon Truck School will provide you with all the information to assist you in obtaining additional endorsements such as doubles/triples, tank vehicle and hazardous materials. Below is a partial list of the subjects covered in the classroom.

  • Defensive driving
  • Pre-trip inspection
  • Proper logbook keeping/hours of service regulations
  • Department of Transportation requirements
  • Transporting hazardous materials
  • Air brakes
  • Diesel engines, transmissions and proper shifting techniques

Behind-the-Wheel Instruction

Since there is no better way of creating a knowledgeable and professional truck driver than behind-the-wheel instruction, our course is extremely focused on “hands on” training. Falcon Truck School makes every attempt to expose our students to many different traffic situations. Our students will drive everything from freeways and highways to narrow city streets and heavy traffic areas. Falcon Truck School has a separate facility specifically designed for training in various backing up maneuvers. Below is a list of just some of the situations students will encounter on the road.

  • Controlled turns
  • Lane control
  • Highway speed control
  • Traffic congestion
  • Side of road obstacle
  • Narrow city streets
  • Various backing up maneuvers
